IPM Inside and Out: Integrated Pest Management as a Strategy for Improvements in Museum Practices, Museum Facilities and Public Understanding


	IPM Technician was added to Municipal Museum staff; primarily responsible for installing and maintaining monitoring traps; monthly pest control inspections with service staff from the museum’s licensed pest control contractor.
	Exterior applications of pesticides approved for use against incursions by the project’s targeted urban pest species - Typically, the pesticide is applied only to exterior foundation masonry and portions of adjacent grounds, well inside the roof drip line.

	Most successful trap types: AgriSense Lo-Line Cockroach Trap with pheromone lure
	TRECE Pherocon AM yellow sticky flying insect trap
	Least successful trap type: TRECE Storgard DOME trap with cigarette beetle lure/bait
	Insecticides: synthetic pyrethrenoids certified for exterior use against the targeted pest species
